Dr. Thomas Muschik has been partner in the firm since 2001. He is a German patent attorney since 1996 and admitted as a European patent attorney at the European Patent Office since 1997. He is also registered as a European trademark attorney and European design attorney at EUIPO in Alicante, Spain, and as representative at the unified patent court (UPC).

Dr. Thomas Muschik has a degree (Diplom) in Physics from the University of Göttingen. In 1988, he completed his doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) at the University of Stuttgart and at the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research in Stuttgart. This was followed by research in the U.S.A. and in Stuttgart.

He has provided longstanding legal counsel and representation for clients on patent law in conjunction with the development of IP protection strategies in the areas of physical engineering, technical optics, optical and physical measurement technology, materials testing, laser processing, general mechanics and machine tools.
Vast experience in drafting and preparing patent applications as well as handling and coordinating patent granting proceedings in Germany, Europe and abroad.
Experience in a number of patent opposition proceedings in Germany and Europe.
Preparing of opinions on the validity or infringement of patents.
